1.      Healthy Kids Program:

This program provides free medical and dental services to children under the age of 21 who fall within the 185% federal poverty income level and have no Medicaid, CHIP, or other health insurance coverages. Ibn Sina is a medical home for thousands of uninsured and low-income children, who do not qualify in any other public health insurance programs. Ibn Sina clinics have seen more than 10,000 children visits with primary care problems in the last three years. The Healthy Kids Program is an excellent access to health care services/medical homes, for children who have no other avenues to obtain quality health services.

3.      Health Care Discount Program:

Ibn Sina Community Medical Centers offer an innovative and affordable healthcare plan to individuals, families, employers and their employees. This is not an insurance plan,  but rather this was made possible due to this health foundation’s membership to highly discounted medical services programes.  In this program, an employer pays $150 per year for an employee, in order to provide each patient the opportunity of significantly discounted doctor’s visits, Lab work, EKG, X-rays, diagnostics, specialty, and treatment services. This program has defined objectives to screen and identify high risk individuals with cardiovascular diseases.  This health foundation’s hope is to help eliminate/significantly reduce these and other enumerated heath issues in the local communities of its health services area of jurisdiction. For more information on this program, call at 281-977-7462 or email at

The South Asian community has high prevalence of diabetes. The impact for this group is seven times higher than the White population in our service area. Ibn Sina Foundation believes that people with diabetes can enjoy a healthy life if they catch the problem early enough and manage it properly with an appropriate lifestyles, that include but not limited to-healthy meals and plenty of exercises. This special diabetic population share the potential dangers which are commonly seen in the cases of untreated/inappropriately managed diabetic patients, which include but not limited to: heart disease, leg amputation, kidney failure, blindness, and stroke.

Ibn Sina’s diabetes prevention and control program’s goals are to (1) increase early identification of those at high-risk for developing diabetes, to provide education, and promote behavioral changes, that prevent development of these complications; (2) increase early diagnosis of those with diabetes, to provide education and support, in order to help these patients to manage their disease conditions; and (3) to educate health care providers to promote quality diabetes care in the community.

Clinical Services

Ibn Sina Foundation – Projects & Programs

Community Medical Center provides low cost medical and dental care to uninsured and indigent patients in Southwest Houston. Currently, the clinic is open for medical and dental services, check hours of operation before visiting Ibn Sina Clinics. The clinic currently employs primary care physicians, who volunteer their time for clinical services. Paid and voluntary dentists also provide dental services.

Patients receive immunizations, health screenings (diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, etc.), low cost lab services, and prescriptions are given free of charge if they are available. Many pharmaceutical companies provide sample and bulk medicine for indigent patients to this clinic.  Dental services range from preventative measures (cleaning, fluoride treatment, etc.) to fillings and root canals.  The clinic also works hard to educate its patients about the importance of medical and dental care by providing specialty educational sessions with topics ranging from respiratory diseases to proper diet and nutrition.

A minimal fee of $39 is requested from patients for medical services rendered at the clinic ($40 for dental services and x-rays).  If patients are unable to pay, special arrangements and exceptions can be made.  By building valued relationships with many area businesses, businesses that in large part employ the clinic’s patients, Community Medical Center can offset a portion of patient fees from donations received from these businesses.  Local business owners have seen the clear benefit of providing medical services to their work force even though they are unable to provide them with insurance.  Donations made to Community Medical Center help to ensure that employees are healthy and able to work.

In order to ensure that patients are knowledgeable about and able to utilize the services of various social agencies available within Houston communities, Community Medical Center collaborates with the follow organizations:

  • The Rose Breast Clinic/The Rose Diagnostic Center
  • Gateway to Care
  • Cullen Trust for Health Care
  • Houston Foundation
  • House of Charity
