HR Generalist

Ibn Sina Foundation, a non-profit organization providing healthcare to low-income families is looking for Human Resources professional to provide HR support to all salaried and hourly employees and management through effective communication and administration across all functions of the organization. Under the direction of the General Manager and Executive Officer, the HR Generalist oversees recruitment, employee development, employee relations/labor relations, policy/contract interpretation, compensation administration and legal compliance.

  1. Design and create job postings for diversified job openings in the organization; forward the job postings to executive management for approval.
  2. Post the job postings to approved job sites and track the responses on daily basis.
  3. Create a bank of resumes for all positions at Ibn Sina Foundation on regular and continuous basis.
  4. Research job sites specific to the job opening and post the jobs on those sites once approved by the management.
  5. Receive and maintain the record of all the resumes; review the resumes with the management and short list the applicants as per job requirement.
  6. Maintain the notes of all interviews and discussions related to Human Resources of Ibn Sina Foundation.
  7. Design and create pre-interview questionnaire based on specific job requirements.
  8. Call the short listed applicants for pre-interview questionnaire; collect and record their responses.
  9. Call and schedule the selected applicants for interview. Email the applicants for interview schedule and other relevant details.
  10. Coordinate with all the interviewers to schedule the applicants for interview.
  11. Greet the interviewee and escort them to the interview room.
  12. Create folders for every interviewer with the resumes and credentials of all interviewee.
  13. Email all applicants for the outcome of their application either rejected or approved.
  14. Design and create job postings for In-office posting.
  15. Visit the clinics and ensure that all signage and posters are consistent with the TWC, DOL and other regulatory agencies.
  16. Assist executive management in the development, amendment and revision of HR and personnel policies of Ibn Sina Foundation.
  17. Design, plan and arrange new employee orientation with relevant departments; maintain records and ensure the orientation is implemented as designed consistent with the need of the job.
  18. Create a process and check-list of new employee on-boarding and implement the process.
  19. Prepare and edit department and task specific job descriptions and use them in postings once approved by the executive management.
  20. Create templates for new employee on-boarding, job related interview questionnaires, exit interviews, employee evaluation.
  21. Assist the management in employee evaluations and appraisals.
  22. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  23. Maintain the record of licenses and credentials; ensure that HR files are updated with the current licenses, certification and credentials.
  24. Maintain and update the records of all the staff and volunteers of Ibn Sina Foundation.
  25. Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
  26. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  27. Recruit volunteers and arrange the orientation.
  28. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  29. Assist the management in positive culture building of the organization by various activities and programs.
  30. Evaluate the outcome of the activities and program; make recommendations for the changes and if approved by the executive management, implement it.
  31. Assist executive management in creating responses for TWC relevant to specific employee benefit cases.
  32. Maintain relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Promote and foster an environment of open communication and honest, candid feedback.
  33. Attend the staff complaints, handle investigations when and as required.
  34. Discuss the findings and resolution options to the executive management; once approved implement the resolution strategy.

Education, Experience and Competencies:

  • Proven experience as HR Generalist
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; knowledge and experience of specific HR software will be a plus.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.
  • Bachelors in Human Resources or relevant field.
  • Additional HR training will be a plus.
