Hurricane Harvey the worst storm that hit the state in decades, which made landfall as a Category 4 storm, produced life-threatening flooding for both coastal and inland cities in Texas, which were declared a federal state of disaster.

Ibn Sina Foundation, Community Clinics have organized medical camps in apartment complexes, schools, shelters and public libraries to provide urgent help to Flood Affected children and families with Free Medicines and Supplies through partnerships with other organizations.

On November 20, 2017, Ibn Sina Foundation arranged a free medical camp to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. This camp took place from 9 am -2 pm at the community clinic located at 11226 S. Wilcrest Dr Houston TX 77099. Ibn Sina Doctors, Staff and volunteers provided free consultations, diagnostic services which include blood pressure, blood sugar check, immunizations, flu shots, Tetanus shots and much more.

CEO of Ibn Sina Foundation Dr Hina Azam informed that “The Ibn Sina Foundation, since its founding in 2001 has provided clinical care to more than 700,000 patients through its six stand-alone clinics in the Greater Houston Area, is pleased to host this event to support low income Houstonians from all backgrounds. She believes that everyone needs quality medical care regardless of their ability to pay specially during a time such as post Hurricane Harvey.”

Ibn Sina Medical Teams are also providing many free medical services including in the field. Some patients are referred to their nearby clinics if they need any further testing like EKG, blood work, ultrasound and other diagnostic tests. Some other supplies including water, food items and school & uniform supplies were also provided to affected children.

“We have seen many kids and adults with chest congestion, sore throat and fever, adults with high blood pressure, foot infections, headaches, skin allergies, diarrhea and vomiting” says the Medical provider of Ibn Sina Foundation.

“We have so far provided services to more than 1,000 children and adults patients. This Hurricane was an unfortunate disaster, community clinics like Ibn Sina have to be well prepared for such disasters with more handy resources” says Mr. Khowaja, Manager of the Foundation.

Chairman of the Foundation Mr. Nasruddin Rupani and many other community leaders have appreciated dedicated efforts made by Clinics Staff, management and the Board for this noble effort to help the community in this difficult time.

Ibn Sina Community clinics have been providing, for long time, low cost medical, dental and diagnostic services to low income, uninsured and indigent patients in Greater Houston. These clinics also serve as a Resource Center where affected individuals and families can receive medical help and other needed assistance.
