Rudi Sandoval is a bilingual Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). He received his undergraduate degree in Social Work at the University of Houston- Downtown and his Master’s degree at the Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston- Main campus. Rudi's cultural background is of Latino descent, and he aims to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health for minority communities. He specializes in working with children, teens and adults and is focused on working on anxiety, depression, trauma and suicidal mental health concerns. He is a person-centered therapist at heart and believes that the client is the expert of their life and their struggle, and he aims to deliver services that ensure clients’ self-determination is always respected. Rudi is currently certified in motivational interviewing and collaborative care. He also employs the use of various evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques including cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), solutions-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing (MI), and mindfulness techniques. Rudi strives to provide culturally competent and sensitive services to his clients and has a working knowledge of intersectionality and systematic oppression and racism.
